PS1 Classics: Metal Gear Solid

YOOOOOO!!!!! This is D.A.R. Jr. and I'm gonna tell you guys about another game that I used to play ALOT when I was a kid. This game in particular was my absolute favorite, it's the main reason why I love videogames so much. This game is the original Playstation version of Metal Gear Solid!!!! I played this game EVERYDAY when I was a kid. I still have it today, and I do still play it today. Now, I know Nintendo took it and made it for the GameCube, it was cool, but like I said, this is the original. The main objective of the game was to get where ever you needed to go without getting caught by enemy guards. Throughout the game, you get huge variety of different types of weapons and items. Your health/recovery items would include Rations, Diazepam (pill used to calm the nerves when handling a sniper rifle; later known as "Pentazemin"), binoculars, and of course a pack of Snake's favorite brand of ciggarettes, and the trademark cardboard box. Your weapons would include a .45 SOCOM, FA-MAS assault rifle, claymore mines, C4, chaff grenades (to jam the security cameras, incase you didn't know), stun grenades (flashbangs) and rocket launchers. This game was also famous for "breaking the 4th wall". What that means is that the dialogue in the game mentions the player, the system, and the controllers. FUNNY AS HELL!!!! Although there are no cheat codes, the only way to unlock special items such as the Stealth Camoflauge (right), and Snake's awesome Bandanna, which gives you infinite ammo for all weapons when equipped (couldn't find a pic, sorry) was to beat the game. Based on what you did in the game would determine which one you would recieve (leave comments if you wanna know exactly what happens).
The whole Metal Gear franchise was AWESOME!! Although the series seemed to have ended in Guns of The Patriots, another installment called "Rising" is in the works, hopefully it will be released some time in 2011. I'd like to say more, but I'll never stop and this post would be too long. So, until next month...this is it...for now...HA HA...HA HA...HAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!
